(FOX 2) - When it comes to serving up a slice of happiness, Love's Custard Pies in Detroit is scoring high marks.
A survery by website 24/7 Wall Street ranked it as Michigan's best pie shop.
Manager Joanna Moore joined us in the FOX 2 Cooking School to tell us more about her food. You can hear from her in the video player above, and get her vanilla custard pie recipe below.
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
2 cups milk
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
2. Preheat oven to 475 degrees F (245 degrees C.)
3. In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar. Beat in vanilla, salt and nutmeg. Stir in milk. Pour into crust.
4. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and bake for 25 to 35 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and filling is set.
