Pig and Whiskey Festival Preview with Woodpile BBQ Shack

"Pitboss" Steve Coddington of Woodpile BBQ Shack along with Pig & Whiskey Event Organizer  Dustin Leslie came in to talk about their event and make ribs. Watch in the video player above.

Coddington says the biggest complaint most people have with ribs is that they turn out dry and tough. Their 3-2-1 method of smoking ribs nearly guarantees tender, fall off the bone ribs without a lot of extra effort.


The Pig & Whiskey Festival in Ferndale will showcase a wide variety of Metro Detroit BBQ joints and restaurants with entrees and sides for purchase, including Woodpile BBQ Shack, Hog Wild BBQ, Slows Bar B-Q, Detroit BBQ Company, Red Wood Grill, Mac Shack, and more. Sample from a list of 50+ whiskeys, bourbons and scotches. There will also be a beer garden with over 20 brews for purchase.

The event will also feature free concerts in the streets of downtown Ferndale.
