(WJBK) - The Piggyback BBQ Festival in Pontiac is a summertime event with two BBQ competitions, specialty drinks, and live music downtown. This year, it's Saturday, July 30, from 2-11 p.m.
It's at the Pontiac City Square at the corner of Saginaw and Pike streets. General admission tickets are $5. You can get more information or order tickets online at www.piggybackfest.org.
Event Producer Ron Berger and Brian Perrone from Slows BBQ joined us in the FOX 2 Cooking School to tell us more about the event and the food that will be there. You can get the recipe mentioned in the interview for Slows' burger below.
HP BURGER INGREDIENTS
sour cream 1 cup
salt kosher 1 tsp
pimentos 2 cup
pepper cayenne 1 tsp
parsley curly, minced 2 oz
onion, spanish, grated 1.5 oz
onion green, minced 2 oz
mayonnaise heavy duty 3 cup
white cheddar cheese, shredded 1 lb
mild cheddar cheese, shredded 1 lb
Mix all ingredients together until thoroughly combined.
