Preventing the loss of your pet

The Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit has some timely advice to keeping your pets safe this summer. This includes preventing the loss of your pet. Spay or neuter your animal to reduce the roaming instinct. Consider having your pet microchipped. For information on low-cost microchip programs call 313-943-2697. Dogs should always wear a collar with an ID tag that includes address and phone number.  Cats should be kept indoors at all times. If there is any risk the cat might get outside, be sure they're wearing a collar with an id. For more information about keeping your pet safe follow the link to: Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit. This week's adoptable pet is Nellie, a 6-month old Female mixed breed. Adoption Process: complete an application online at www.MetroDetroitAnimals.org. This can also be done in person at the Dearborn Animal Shelter, 2661 Greenfield Road, Dearborn, MI 48120. Or call, 313-943-2697.
