Reggie Jackson hosting Pistons and Plates fundraiser Friday
(WJBK) - When he's not on the court, Pistons guard Reggie Jackson is working to make sure Detroit kids have the tools they need to succeed in school and in life.
On Friday night, Reggie is hosting the 2nd annual Pistons and Plates fundraising event at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel.
His goal is to raise enough to create at least five more Reggie's Literacy Lounges in Title I schools in Detroit. The provide students with age appropriate books and a space designed to make reading fun.
Last year's Pistons and Plates raised $120,000 and helped to open the first two Literacy Lounges at Bow Elementary and Thurgood Marshall Elementary.
Reggie joins FOX 2 with more information.
