Ride for Autism Aug. 6

(WJBK) - What started out as a couple of guys from UAW Local 245 putting together a small motorcycle ride for autism has grown into an event that is still going strong more than 10 years later.

Ride for Autism is planning its 12th annual ride for Saturday, August 6. The ride begins at the Southfield Civic Center at 26000 Evergreen Road. Registration and a pancake breakfast begin at 8 a.m. and the ride leaves at 10:30 a.m.

In 2005, Ride For Autism at their first Event had 56 bikes, traveled a 60mile route and raised $8,000. They have rolled past our 10th year anniversary and have raised over $100,000. The profits benefit  Macomb / St. Clair County ASA and Autism Connections of the Judson Center.
