Silent disco, selfies with Santa, and family fun days: Beacon Park holiday events

DETROIT (FOX 2) - Beacon Park is where it's at for family holiday fun over the next couple of weekends.

Joining FOX 2 is Lynette Dowler, DTE Energy Foundation president.

Home for the Holidays Silent Disco: Ugly Sweater Christmas Edition 
Sat. Dec. 8, 7 pm to midnight  
o Partygoers donning headphones will gather in the heated Winter Lodge tent where local DJs will simultaneously spin different genres of music on separate channels. 
o Bars and food trucks will offer dinner and drinks for purchase. Don't forget to wear your favorite ugly Christmas sweater.

Selfies with Santa + Holiday Family Fun Days 
Sat., Dec. 15 and Sun. Dec. 16 from 1 to 5 p.m.
o Santa makes a stop at Beacon Park for visits and photos with the family along with make-and-take activities (Mrs. Claus Story Time, Holiday Card Creation Station, Jewelry Making, Wreath Making, Create a mini Snow Globe, Create a Personalized
Ornament, Christmas Cookies Decoration, and Gift Box Design Station) holiday lighting and more. 

NYE Kids Countdown - Monday, Dec. 31 from 1 to 6 p.m.
o Ring in the New Year at Beacon Park with a special celebration just for kids including a countdown and ball drop, kids' toast, entertainment and make-and-take activities.
