Tequila Mundo at Royal Oak Farmers Market May 14

Tequila has always been a centerpiece for creative and fun cocktails, its versatility and wide appeal making it the perfect spirit. True connoisseurs know tequila is so much more than margaritas, tequila sunrises, and palomas. You can make your formal introduction to the world of agave at Tequila Mundo, an event at the Royal Oak Farmers Market on Saturday, May 14.

The event begins at 7:30 pm for general admission and runs until 11:00 pm. General admission tickets are $45 and include 10 half ounce drink samples. Beginning at 6:30 pm and continuing through the duration of the event, a special VIP tasting ticket is available for $65 that includes 15 drink samples and complimentary food sampling during the VIP hour from some of the most popular restaurants and food vendors in the Motor City. Designated driver tickets are $15, which provides access to the event and vendors, complimentary bottled water, and delicious food that is available for attendees to purchase. Steak, Shrimp, Bell Peppers and Sliced Onions tossed in Lobster Cream Sauce, served on flour tortillas
8oz diced steak
8oz shrmp
1 ea red, yellow, and green pepper-sliced 1/4"x2"
1 onion-sliced 1/4"x2"

Cream Sauce
1oz corn oil
2 garlic cloves
1/2 yellow onion-sliced thin
1 poblano pepper sliced thin
1/4# butter
1/4# flour
1 quart heavy cream
2 cups lobster stock
Sautee pepper, onion and garlic in oil until tender and garlic starts to brown. Add butter and flour and thicken. Once thickened add cream and stock and simmer for 5 minutes.

Tacos
Cook steak, shrimp, peppers, and onions. Toss in lobster cream and place in shells.

.5oz Agave
2 dashes chocolate bitters
muddled orange slice and cherries
served in a rocks glass
