The Greening of Detroit Kicksoff Tree Planting Season

Volunteers with the Greening of the Detroit and the Southwest Detroit Environmental Vision will be outdoors today planting 39 trees to kickoff the spring 2016 tree-planting season. 

It's the beginning of several community-driven planting events geared toward beautifying Detroit neighborhoods and making healthy, vibrant spaces out of vacant land throughout the city. 

Trish Hubbell, public relations director for Greening of Detroit, visited the Fox2 Studios to talk about the initiative and importance of increasing the city's tree canopy.
