The Peacock Room '60s Debutante Pop-Up Shop
(FOX 2) -
Vice President of Communications at Edsel & Eleanor Ford House Ann Fitzpatrick, along with Owner of The Peacock Room Rachel Lutz, joined us on The Nine. Watch in the video player above.
Inspired by the fashion and glamour of the high-society holiday debutante receptions Eleanor Ford hosted in the 1960s to honor her debutante granddaughters, a special pop-up shop featuring Detroit boutique The Peacock Room is coming to Edsel & Eleanor Ford House (Ford House) on December 14 and 15. A perfect pairing with Ford House's brand new Holiday Belles House Tour - which gives a glimpse into the society scene of the '60s, highlighting the Fords' holiday receptions - fashion-lovers can check out a unique selection of vintage-inspired jewelry, handbags, capes and more with all the classic elegance of Mrs. Ford and her debutantes.
Visitors are also sure to enjoy the replica holiday decorations inside Ford House, like Christmas trees hanging from the ceiling, decorating rooms in the Fords' historic home exactly as they were for the receptions in the '60s.
The pop up will be 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, December 14 and December 15. Tickets are not required to shop.
