US Women's Hockey team to take on Team Canada at Little Caesars Arena

The U.S. Women's Hockey team will make history at Little Caesars Arena when they take on Team Canada later this month.

Joining FOX 2 is goalie Alex Rigsby, who has competed in four International Ice Hockey Federation Women's World Championships (gold-2013, 2015, 2016, 2017) and in six Four Nations Cups (1st-2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018; 2nd-2014), and forward Dani Cameranesi, who has played in one Olympic Winter Games (2018-gold), one International Ice Hockey Federation Women's World Championship and three Four Nations Cups.

The women's national teams from the U.S. and Canada will play a three-game rivalry series from Feb. 12-17, with Little Caesars Arena hosting the final game of the series as part of Hockey Week Across America on Sunday, Feb. 17. Tickets are still available at Ticketmaster.com and 313Presents.com.

The U.S. vs. Canada game will begin at Noon, and serve as the front end of a doubleheader, as the Red Wings will take on the Philadelphia Flyers at 6 p.m. The rivalry series will also feature games on Tuesday, February 12 at 7 p.m. ET in London, Ontario, and Thursday, February 14 at 7 p.m. ET in Toronto.

"The two nations met in what became perhaps the greatest spectacle of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang in February 2017 when the U.S. secured a thrilling overtime victory in the gold-medal game, which was decided in the sixth round of a shootout. The most recent game between the two countries was also won by the U.S., a 5-2 triumph in the championship game of the Four Nations Cup in November 2018 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan."
