WSU looking to win Gift of Life Campus Challenge again

Valentine's Day is also National Organ Donor Day.

More than 120,000 people are waiting for a life-saving organ donation. You can help make a dent in that staggering statistic with the Wayne State University's Gift of Life Campus Challenge.

This is the seventh year for the challenge. WSU is facing 13 other institutions across the state. They've won the past six years, and are hoping to do it again this year by adding the most names to the donor registry.

Co-chairs Alyssa Krieger and Manon Nitta joined us in studio to tell us more about the challenge, along with organ recipient Nicholas Giannamore. You can hear from them in the video player above.

To sign up for the donor registry and support Wayne State in the Campus Challenge, visit www.giftoflifemichigan.org/go/wayne. The competition ends at 11:59 p.m. on February 20.
