14-year-old girl walking to school hit, killed in accident by fellow student
MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) - Authorities are investigating after a student was hit by a car in Macomb early Friday morning. The accident happened Heydenreich Road and Vine Drive, which is between 21 and 22 Mile roads.
We're told a 14-year-old student was on her way to nearby Dakota High School when she hit by a driver in a 2016 Jeep Wrangler.
The Macomb County Sheriff's Office says a 16-year-old girl was driving the jeep at the time of the accident. A 16-year-old passenger was also in the car. They were also on their way to Dakota High School.
The victim, who authorities have identified as Victoria Cartwright, was taken to the hospital but later died from her injuries.
Heydenreich Road is closed at this time as authorities continue to investigate.
