Berkley Cruisefest kicks off weekend of Motor City originals

Call it flashback Friday - auto edition. For many the Berkley Cruisefest is the prelude to the Woodward Dream Cruise - and it was quite the kickoff.

Berkley was brimming with old school rides for its yearly cruise fest

From Chevelles to Thunderbirds, Corvettes to Pintos, the Detroit growl is rumbling throughout Metro Detroit and it starts with the family affair Berkley Cruise along 12 Mile.

Aiden Wagner, 9, was geared up for a weekend of classic cars in the Motor City. His mom, Heather, says seeing all the classic makes her think of riding in her dad's '65 Corvette Stingray.

"Great to see the excitement on his face," she said. "I thought I was so cool, so cool."

The Grand Marshall of this year's parade? Ben Wallace.

The stream of 400 cars made their way through Berkley and then revelers got an up close look at the Motor City originals. Check it out in the video above.
