Detroit police officer caught on camera punching man in cuffs while pursuing suspect

A Detroit officer was placed on administrative duties after being caught on camera punching a cuffed man in a house.

Video showed the officer repeatedly striking an individual in the stomach. Other officers can be seen waiving at him to stop. 

An internal investigation is now underway. 

What they're saying:

Detroit police say officers were investigating a man who they believed was violating curfew and carrying a concealed weapon. The man ran into a house and officers chased after him. 

Multiple officers ran into a group of people who were in the home, which eventually led to a scuffle, with police shoving and pushing into the home pursuing the suspect. 

During the chaos, a man in a blue shirt was placed in handcuffs while officers continued to enter the home. Police say he was arrested for obstructing police.
