Detroit Tigers Opening Day: How to watch in Detroit

The sun will be shining and the grass will be green – and Tigers baseball is back in Detroit!

The Detroit Tigers Opening Day is Friday, April 3rd, with the first pitching coming at 1:10. All morning, downtown is buzzing with excitement – despite the Tigers inauspicious start to the season. They took two of three from the Padres before being swept by the Diamondbacks.

This Opening Day, as has been customary for years, the Detroit Tigers are available for FREE on FOX 2!

No subscription required – just turn on FOX 2 to watch the game!

The rest of the year, the Tigers will be available on Detroit SportsNet for $19.99 per month, or $190 for a year. But you can also watch Detroit SportsNet on most cable and Satellite providers.

How to stream Tigers Opening Day

Unfortunately, FOX 2 cannot stream the game.

Instead, FOX 2's Opening Day coverage continues starting at 12:30 with Ronia Shamona and Aaron Jordan anchoring our streaming tailgate coverage live from Southfield.

We have crews scattered throughout Downtown Detroit and, even though we cannot stream the game, we'll be providing as many updates as possible and checking in from the party outside the game.

AND - we want you to be part of it.

Join us on ZOOM to talk about your favorite part about Opening Day or baseball in general. Is it the early morning tailgating? Or is the summer hot dogs with a cold drink? Or maybe it's just the sounds of the ballpark.

Whatever you want to talk about that's baseball and Tigers related – we want YOU!

Join our Zoom starting at 12:30 p.m. by clicking here.

Before you Go Live

Once you're in our Zoom meeting, there's a few things to know.

  • Make sure you're microphone is NOT muted and be ready to talk!
  • If you're using a phone, turn it horizontally.
  • Check the chat - and tell us what you want to talk about!
  • Mute all other devices! This will avoid an echo!
