Detroit woman killed in crash after losing control, hitting semi on I-75 in Monroe County
MONROE COUNTY, Mich. (FOX 2) - A crash on I-75 Wednesday in Monroe County killed a Detroit woman.
What we know:
According to Michigan State Police, the 56-year-old woman was driving a Hyundai southbound on the freeway when she lost control and rear-ended a semi-truck near Gaynier Road in Erie Township just after midnight. The woman then hit a minivan before striking the center median wall.
The Hyundai driver was taken to a hospital, where she died. Her passenger, a 43-year-old Detroit man, suffered minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
What we don't know:
Police did not share what led to the driver losing control. An investigation is ongoing.
