Dry cleaner in Ferndale damaged by fire

(FOX 2) - Authorities are investigating a fire that damaged a dry cleaner in Ferndale overnight.

The fire started at Courtesy Dry Cleaners on 9 Mile about 2 a.m. and destroyed much of the interior. Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to other businesses in the strip mall. 

A person living inside of the business was asleep and woke up just in time to call 911 about the fire. It is illegal to have someone living inside a commercial business so investigators will also be looking into that. 

Right now authorities aren't sure what caused the fire, but it appears it may have been accidental. 

No injuries were reported.
