An 81 year-old man who should be enjoying his golden years was beaten, robbed, and carjacked outside his apartment in the 3600 block of Rivard on Detroit’s Westside.

The incident happened Saturday night just before 9 pm.

"It's horrible, we gotta all get together out here and make it better," Terry O'Neal said

After pistol whipping the man in the head twice, the suspects got away with his 2016 gray Lincoln MKX 4 door cross-over with tinted windows.

"It's terrible. All you young guys out here carjacking, you better stop," O'Neal said.

Police believe the suspects are two young guys in their 20s. They are described as 5’10-6’0 Thin build, dark complexion wearing dark clothing including black knit skull cap.

One suspect had what looked like a black assault rifle and the other some type of hand gun.

"If they could start in the neighborhoods that would really work, get something for the young people out here that are just trying to live."

The suspects were last seen traveling north on Rivard, they also took a cellphone and 1 wallet.
