Large fire damages Garden City strip mall
A strip mall, which neighbors say is abandoned. burned Sunday evening in Garden City.
GARDEN CITY, MI (FOX 2) - Officials said a fire broke out in a strip mall in the 6200 block of Middlebelt Road in Garden City at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday evening.
Middlebelt Road between Ford and Warren was closed for several hours due to the fire.
Officials did not provide details about the fire, but neighbors who live nearby said the building was vacant.
"The little mini mall, the strip mall, has been abandoned, I'd say five years," Sandra Markowski said. "They all went out of business, so it's been sitting for about, like I said, five years."
