Large church fire in Troy appears to be a 'total loss'
The Troy Church of Christ has been burning since 3 a.m. with fire crews working through the early morning hours to fight it on Thursday.

Fire crews battle early morning Troy church fire
Firefighters are at the scene of a large fire at Troy Church of Christ Thursday morning.
The fire is at the Troy Church of Christ on Trombley Road, just west of Rochester Road.
When FOX 2 cameras arrived. visible flames could be seen coming from the roof of the one-story structure with large plumes of smoke.
An official told FOX 2 that they have been battling the fire since 3:15 a.m. There have been no injuries.
A police officer on patrol smelled the smoke and alerted the fire department after first arriving at the scene.
A minister at the scene spoke about the damage at the facility.
"It looks like a total loss," Manuel Florescu said. "Just knowing the layout of the building, and where I've seen flames coming through the roof. It looks like our auditorium roof is all gone."

The church has been serving the community since 1958 and one of the first buildings on the street.
Fire crews have the situation under control but the damage has been done.
Some members of the congregation were at the scene surveying the damage this morning.
The facility was empty due to the early morning hour the fire began, but a summer vacation bible school which is hosted there, is canceled for now.
What we don't know:
It is unclear how the fire started or what the circumstances were surrounding it.
Investigators will be dissecting the scene once the fire at the church – which appears to be a total loss, is put out and the site is secure.
