Grave stones vandalized at cemetery in Independence Twp.

The Oakland County Sheriff's department are investigating an evil act of vandalism. 

Deputies say they responded to the Sashabaw Plains Cemetery in Independence Township for complaints of damages to several grave stones. 

Upon arrival, deputies found numerous head stones that were damaged in the middle of the cemetery, some of which were very old. Some of the head stones were broken and others were broken and scattered around the cemetery.

Deputies say at this point it is hard to determine when the vandalism occurred, however the damage appears to be recent.

There is a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
