Key witness sought in man's front door murder

Detroit Police are looking for a woman they believe can help solve a murder.

Randall Simmons was shot and killed on Sunday, August 13 in the 5000 block of Neff Street on the city's east side.

Detroit police say a woman came at knocked at Simmons front door. Simmons' cousin opened the door, and the woman asked to speak to Simmons.

Police say when Simmons came to the door, he was "ambushed" and was fatally shot.

Police believe the woman is a witness to the shooting and would like to speak with her.

Detroit police aren't sure on a motive yet, and Simmons' son tells us everybody who knew his father loced him.

Neighbors told police they heard the woman speak and that she sounded like she was afraid, and that she may have been in fear of her own life, too.
