Inside the apartment complex where two people were senselessly killed, Thanksgiving is a few days away and they are trying to regain some normalcy.

The Phillip Sims apartments are not just a home; the place has been a sanctuary for many of its residents getting them off the streets. But that sense of security shattered Tuesday night when resident Bernice Clark and an unarmed security guard Kenneth Hall were gunned down. It was Hall's first night on the job.

Detroit police are searching for the suspect 69- year-old James Fleming. He is described as 6 feet 5 to 6 feet 7 very slim, light complexion, short gray hair, wearing all black. armed and dangerous. If you see him on the street call 911. If you want to submit a tip anonymously, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.

The Thanksgiving lunch planned for Monday is still on even though we're told this tragedy has made some who sponsored the dinner pull back out of fear. For some seniors... that could be their only thanksgiving dinner. If you would like to donate to the dinner call the complex at 313-824-5326.
