Love triangle leads to shooting in Warren
WARREN, Mich. (WJBK) - A love triangle is apparently what led to a neighbohood shooting on Elroy Avenue in Warren, police tell us.
"Hopefully the love triangle is broken up now and it won't be seen any more in our neighborhood," a neighbor tells us.
This man says he witnessed two shootings that took place in the middle of the street right in the middle of the day. He wants to stay anonymous.
"I came out to the front window and she came to the front porch just unloading, that was it," he says.
Police say it started when an ex-girlfriend went to visit a woman who lives at the house - hoping to rekindle the relationship.
But then the new girlfriend arrived home and they began to argue.
The new girlfriend took off in her car, but the woman who lives there pulled out a gun and fired shots at her car, blowing out the back window.
"The gun was pointed, shooting toward our house," the neighbor says. "Police had to check for bullets."
But it didn't end there. Police say the new girlfriend drove by again - and the gun-wielding woman fired at her car again.
The crazy, violent chaos doesn't surprise Buck Willis, who lives two doors down.
"We don't know her, personally, but, like I say, the cops have been here five times the last three years," Willis says. "So Warren cops know her."
"It is a crock," the other neighbor tells us. "We are hard-working people on this block; we look out for each other we take care of poor homes. Something like this is amazing."
In the end, two people were arrested and two cars were towed for evidence. Nobody was injured.
