Ever wanted to spend your whole summer on Mackinac Island? Here's your chance - and you'll get paid for it.

Businesses are currently looking to hire about 5,000 people to work on the quaint island from May until October. According to Mackinac Island Tourism, many businesses are willing to work with college students who may not be able to commit to the whole season.

"Our Mackinac Island tourism industry relies on seasonal workers from near and far to make the island hum each season, and it's because of their hard work and dedication that we're able to provide unrivaled hospitality to every person that visits," said Tim Hygh, executive director for Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau.

Michigan's Mackinac Island has once again been named the best place to travel this summer.

Workers are needed for a variety of positions across the island, including hotels, fudge shops, retail, restaurants, carriage tours, horse barns, State Park, ferry boats, dock porters, and bike shops. A few Mackinac Island spots currently hiring include The Pink Pony, Chippewa Hotel Waterfront, and Wings of Mackinac, among many others.

Individual employers typically work with employees to help them with housing, Macinac Island Tourism said.

"Spending a season working on Mackinac Island is a unique experience that one will cherish for years to come, and I hope those looking for seasonal employment this year will consider applying for a job with us," Hygh said.
