Man walking on I-75 hit, killed by 2 vehicles in Monroe County

BERLIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (FOX 2) - The Monroe County Sheriff said a 64-year-old man from Garden City was hit and killed while trying walk across the northbound lanes of I-75 late Thursday night after his car broke down.
Sheriff Dale Malone said deputies were called to the accident on I-75 just south of Swan Creek Road in Berlin Township Thursday night.
According to the sheriff, a 45-year-old woman was driving a 2003 Ford Explorer north on I-75 when she hit the man who was reportedly walking across the highway.
Malone said the man was trying to cross traffic after his car broke down on the side of the road.
After being hit by the first SUV, the man was hit again by a 2017 Ford Explorer by a 42-year-old man.
The 64-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identification is not being released at this time.
Both drivers are cooperating with police in the investigation and neither were injured.
