Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots are a combined $1.4 billion this week

Expect lines at lottery retailers as the combined Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots are over $1.4 billion.  Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $800 million and Wednesday’s Powerball is an estimated $663 million.

The overall odds of winning any Mega Millions prize are 1 in 23; the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 290,472,336.

Powerball is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are broadcast live every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET from the Powerball draw studio in Florida. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.9. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.

Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah do not have state lotteries.

The last Mega Millions winning ticket was sold on March 17, 2026, when a winning ticket in Ohio claimed a $60 million prize.  

The last Powerball jackpot was on May 2, 2026, when two tickets sold in Florida and Texas split a $20 million prize.

Powerball tickets are $2 per game and Mega Millions tickets are $5.00 per play, with a multiplier included.
