Southeast Michigan school closings list: Hundreds of schools closed Tuesday, Wednesday due to bitter cold

As temperatures remain below zero, with the wind making it even colder, hundreds of schools are closed.

The Tuesday closures started pouring in Monday, with many districts electing to cancel classes both Tuesday and Wednesday due to the forecasted blast of cold that won't subside until later this week.

Highs Tuesday will struggle to reach 6 degrees, with wind chills starting below zero all day. As the day wears on, that wind chill will dip to double-digit negatives.

Overnight, temperatures plummet even more, with lows forecasted to be around -4 and wind chills expected to hit -20.

The bitter cold sticks around into Wednesday, though it won't be as extreme. By Wednesday afternoon, highs will be around 16, while the wind chill is expected to be around 4.
