Tow truck driver killed in I-94 crash identified; 5 others still critical

One person was killed and five others injured in an I-94 crash involving a school bus Tuesday morning in Ypsilanti.

The crash killed tow truck driver Nader Chehadi, 42, from Ypsilanti according to Michigan State Police in an afternoon update. He was assisting a school bus stopped on the side of the road when the bus was struck from behind by an SUV at 10:20 a.m. at the time of the crash. 

Nader died from his injuries while two adults and three children inside the SUV are in critical condition at area hospitals. 

There were no passengers aboard the school bus in the accident, which happened on the eastbound side of the freeway, west of US-23 near State Street in Pittsfield Township.
