Two people dead after accident involving DDOT bus

A crash involving a Detroit Department of Transportation bus has left two dead and at least one injured.

Police say a silver 1999 Acura with three occupants was traveling southbound on Myers when it rear ended a DDOT bus traveling eastbound on Curtis around 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning.  

After the hit, the rear seat passenger, female between the ages of 20 and 25, was thrown thru the front windshield landing on the hood of the vehicle. The front seat passenger, male between the ages of 20 and 25, was unresponsive inside the car. 

Police say the driver of the car, male between ages of 20 and 25, was transported to the hospital and is fighting for his life. 

At this time, the driver of the DDOT bus has no injuries, but one of the bus passengers is believed to have a minor injury.
