Winter storm causes road problems

(WJBK) - The winter storm that struck Metro Detroit on Wednesday was just enough to slow traffic and cause some problems.

There were numerous spin outs and runoffs during the afternoon non-rush rush hour. The salt trucks came out strong in many cities and the parking lot crews were up to the task to help people find a place to park.

"(The roads) are a little messy, real slushy - if you go any faster they would be real slippery," said Southfield resident Lateefha Aaron, adding that big trucks like to drive fast and should slow down.

The snow blowers got a work out during the storm. Some snow was wet, heavy and water-logged, which is not easy to move even with a snow blower.
