They fell despite having their star pitcher start on the mound 3-2. The series returns to Detroit for Game 3 on Tuesday.

Raleigh scores, giving Seattle 3-2 lead
Cal Raleigh scored after Julio Rodriguez hit a double to right field in the 8th inning. Kyle Finnegan was switched with Brant Hurter to close out the inning.
Torkelson ties it up
Spencer Torkelson doubled to right field, bringing in two runs with Gleybor Torres and Riley Greene.
Polanco homers again
Jorge Polanco scored his second home run of the game, putting the Mariners up 2-0 after blasting it beyond left field.
