Rags $2 Riches 6th annual Thrifted Fashion Show/Gala
A night of thrifted fashion, Detroit flare and elegance will take the Detroit fashion community to new heights this February 2024. The fashion collective group, "Rags $2 Riches Detroit" will be presenting its highly anticipated 6th Annual Thrifted Fashion Show/Gala, Sunday, February 25, 2024. Last year we were granted Sponsorship by one of the largest thrift stores in the Southeast, The Salvation Army. The production's emergent and fashion creative Stephanie Bedell (Thebagladie) will bring you this year's production. Thebagladie has brought you a sold out production in February from 2019 to 2023, so we are turning up the heat for our 2024 Winter production that will combine a night to celebrate fashion black tie style. The runway presentation will feature thrifted fashion by Thebagladie and Detroit based Model, featured in GQ and across the country "Rockie Bonds", as she transitions from Model to Designer. This year's theme is: Black Excellence. Rags $2 Riches 6th Annual Gala will return to "The Jam Handy" this year. The party calls for black tie. Dress Code Will Be Enforced: ALL BLACK EVERYTHING with the exception of a White Button Down with a Tux. Doors open at 5, show starts at 6, and the party ends at 9. About The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center Founded in 1883, The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is dedicated to helping substance abusing adults bridge the gap on the road to recovery. The ARC provides individuals a holistic faith-based approach to drug and alcohol rehabilitation at its campus in Detroit. With capacity to serve more than 250 program participants, the 180-365-day residential program emphasizes behavioral modification to replace self-defeating habits with more productive, meaningful activities. Residents move at their own pace through journaling; group and one-on-one counseling; work therapy; and classes on chemical dependency, relapse prevention, anger management and more. Completely self-funded, the ARC draws its entire operating budget from the revenue of its 29 Salvation Army thrift stores located in Southeast Michigan.
