The foiled plot to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer has re-focused attention on terrorism and extremism. Towsley Policymaker in Residence at the University of Michigan?s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, Javed Ali spoke with Fox 2?s Hilary Golston about his opinion piece in the Detroit News, in which he points to three major factors fueling domestic terrorism. Golston asks what sort of empirical analysis he has to support this claim, beyond disturbing anecdotes, like the plot targeting the Governor.
