Severe weather possible later today in Metro Detroit
There is a chance for severe weather Thursday evening and night, with gusty winds being the biggest threat.
DETROIT (FOX 2) - Rain moves in this morning, then fades by midday with warmer air on the way.
Though the morning rain fades, severe thunderstorms are possible later in the day.
Highs reach 60 or better today, but that may not happen until after sunset.
Just look at the 7 p.m. temperatures. Better than yesterday, but many areas spend most of the day stuck in the 50s.
Severe thunderstorm risk
Showers and storms are likely tonight and could begin as early as this evening.
The severe threat looks limited, but it’s not zero. Gusty winds would be the main issue if anything stronger gets going.
Rain wraps up early Friday, and by first pitch tomorrow we should be in a pretty sweet spot. Temperatures near 70 with a decent shot at some clearing too.
Weekend outlook
Saturday stays warm, but storm chances ramp back up by evening, and there may be another opportunity for severe weather.
Then temps tumble for Easter Sunday, though the rain moves out in time for the holiday.
