Annual Southwest Holiday Fest in southwest Detroit

It's a free, fun and family-friendly event that celebrates the vibrant culture of southwest Detroit.

The Annual Southwest Holiday Fest is taking place tomorrow.

Joining FOX 2 is Gloria Rosas Baiocco owner of the Xochi's Gift Shop.

"The Sixth Annual Southwest Holiday Fest takes place from 2 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8 at five 'Cultural Activity Center' locations throughout Southwest Detroit. In addition to an exciting family-friendly holiday entertainment line-up at each location, the holiday fest features many traditional food and beverage items, dance performances, vendor tables, giveaways, FREE photos with Santa, and more. 
 
The five locations include: W. Vernor at 21st, W. Vernor at 25th, Bagley at 24th, W. Vernor at Central, and Michigan Ave. at Wesson.

Since 1981, the mission of Raices Mexicanas remains unchanged: to preserve and showcase the magnificence of Mexican Folklorico dance and to contribute to the local community. They rehearse, raise money, make or order costumes to honor and maintain the tradition and culture of Mexican Folkloric Dance."
