Back to school cell phone tips for your children

The back-to-school shopping season is historically the second busiest time of year for the wireless industry - only behind the holiday season. In fact, in a 2016 back-to-school survey by Deloitte, 31% of survey respondents said they would buy fewer traditional school supplies because their child is using more technology for school.

Comcast has developed a calculator to help its customers determine whether adding Xfinity Mobile to their bundle will save them money.

1. Shop around: Comparison shop, look for bundling opportunities.

2. WiFi awareness: When deciding on a plan, check with your internet provider to see if they offer access to free WiFi when you're on the go.

3. Apps can get expensive: Make sure you turn off the ability for in-app purchases, especially on your kids' phones.
