Jazz Guitarist Mark Whitfield is MSU Jazz Artist in Residence

(FOX 2) - Music students will get the opportunity to learn from some of the best jazz musicians this week.

Jazz Guitarist Mark Whitfield will teach, tour and share his professional insights with jazz students from the MSU College of Music from Dec. 1-9. 

Whitfield joined us on The Nine along with MSU professor of guitar Randy Napoleon. You can hear from them in the video player above. 

Whitfield will also perform with the MSU Jazz Orchestras I led by Rodney Whitaker in the MSU Fairchild Theatre on Friday, Dec. 7, at 8 p.m. The concert will also showcase performances of MSU Jazz Orchestra II.
