Oakland Literacy Council's Motor City Wine and Food Festival

One in three Michigan adults reads below a 6th grade level. The Oakland Literacy Council is working hard to change that. They help nearly 600 people every year improve their literacy skills by pairing them with a volunteer tutor.

The Motor City Wine and Food Festival happening this weekend is helping to support their efforts, and you can be a part of the event.

VIDEO: Lisa Machesky, executive director of the Oakland Literacy Council, tutor Reg Brown and Russell Moore, leader of Motor City Wine and Food Festival join us on The Nine to tell us more about the literacy program and the fundraiser.
