(FOX 2) - Jeopardy host Alex Trebek recently shared he's being treated for pancreatic cancer, a diagnosis that is often dire. Pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. with a five-year survival rate of just 9 percent. 

This weekend a big event is being held to raise awareness and money for reserach into this killer cancer. PurpleStride Detroit is happening on May 11, 2019. The PurpleStride walks are among the largest sources of funding for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network
