St. Jude Detroit Gala November 10

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened 50 years ago.

Hundreds of local kids have defeated cancer at the hospital, which was founded by Detroit native Danny Thomas. Sarah Ford was one of those kids, and today she is helping others who receive that devastating diagnosis. She joined us in studio to tell us more about her experience, and the upcoming gala for St. Jude.

The St. Jude Detroit Gala is Friday, November 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in Dearborn.

This event will feature cocktails, dinner, live and silent auctions, live entertainment, a patient speaker and "Give to Live" auction. Contributions will help St. Jude ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
