'Swing Low' at Royal Starr Film Festival Oct. 15

A Detroit native is the star and producer of a new film making its way around the film festival circuit called "Swing Low."

The film stars Phil Elam, and takes place in the days prior to the Civil War and follows the resilient life of an extraordinary slave named Samuel. When plantation owner Thompson sets out on a mission of murder, a ride of supernatural terror ensues that tip the scales of justice toward the realm of revenge.

"Swing Low" is one of many films being played at this year's Royal Starr Film Festival in Royal Oak. You can catch it in the festival's Halloween horror short film block on Saturday, October 15 at 3 p.m.
