1 dead after double shooting in Eastern Market in Detroit

One person was killed Saturday night in a shooting in Detroit's Eastern Market.

Police said a victim told them two men were shot in the area of Russell and Alfred at 11 p.m. The second victim was taken to a hospital, where he is listed as stable.

The victim was not cooperating with the investigation, police said.

The Eastern Market Partnership issued a response after the alleged shooting:

"Eastern Market Partnership is deeply saddened by a senseless fatal shooting that occurred late last night in the Eastern Market district. 

"Our hearts go out to the family of the person involved.

"We hope that can we come together as a nation to find solutions to stop the epidemic of violent deaths."
