15 pounds of marijuana seized at Blue Water Bridge hidden in mail trucks
US Customs agents made a big pot bust at the border.
Officers at the Blue Water Bridge flagging two separate Canadian mail trucks with shipments labeled as bed clothes.
Upon inspection, officers found vacuum-sealed bundles of marijuana with an estimated street value of nearly $53,000. They confiscated the pot, but there is no word on any charges.
Although recreational marijuana is now legal in Michigan, such a large amount is not - and it is still illegal to bring it across the border.
"Over $50,000 of illegal drugs will not make it into our streets to poison our youth, and for that, I truly commend our officers' steadfast effort in protecting our nation" said Port Director Michael Fox.
