16-year-old shot and killed in Inkster, suspect in custody

Family inconsolable after finding out their loved one, a 16-year-old boy, was shot and killed Saturday.

It happened inside of a home on the 800 block of Clair Street in Inkster, that's near Middlebelt and Cherry Hill.

"He was only 17-years-old, and he got a baby too," said the victim's sister Darnisha.

Darnisha didn't want to give us her last name, but says her brother Darion was the victim.

She says Darion was a senior in high school and was getting ready to graduate in June. She also says he was ready to do more with his life.

"He did a lot of stuff in his past, be he was trying to you know, clean it up," Darnisha said.

Michigan State Police and Inkster Police are working fast to find a shooter. They tell FOX 2 a suspect was located and arrested.

They aren't releasing much information on what led up to the shooting, but the family says he was with the wrong crowd.

"You can't trust everybody," Darnisha said. "Everybody not your friend and the cause of him thinking everybody his friend is the cause of him laying in the house dead right now."
