The two children killed are a brother and sister ages 3 and 6 years old. Three children, ages 3, 5 and 7 years old are hospitalized after being struck by a suspect's car.

According to Chief James Craig, the three children are in critical condition. An adult was also struck.

Police say the suspect's car struck the children after jumping a curb at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Detroit police tried to pull over two males suspected of carrying a concealed weapon, a semi-automatic blue steel gun. The weapon was recovered.

They refused to stop, leading officers on a chase through E. Warren and Frankfort.

The fleeing driver is in custody, reports FOX 2's Ron Savage.

The children were conveyed to St. John Hospital and Medical Center.

U.S. Border Patrol, state and local police are at the scene.
