Detroit Police are investigating after two people were fatally shot outside of a gas station Thursday morning.

The shooting happened around 5:30 a.m. in the area of Schaefer and Puritan, outside the Clark gas station. Detroit Police say the two men started shooting at each other over a woman.

"They were talking, you can see them on video talking. So, I don’t know if you want to call it an argument but it obviously went south, whatever they were talking about," says Detroit Police Captain John Serda.

People on the scene tell us they heard about 10 different shots. At least 8 bullet casings were found at the scene.

FOX 2 has confirmed one of the victims is a 25-year-old named Martez Fenderson.

Fenderson died from a gunshot wound to the head. The other man was hit in the chest.

Family members tell us Fenderson was in an on-again-off-again relationship with the woman allegedly at the center of all this. Police say the woman was there at the time of the shooting. We're also told she is the mother of Fenderson's two young children.
