2016 Meridian Winter Blast in full swing Feb. 12-14
The 2016 Meridian Winter Blast -- officially underway in downtown Detroit.
The big event opened with organizers using a "chainsaw to cut through an ice sculpture" -- instead of the traditional "ribbon cutting."
Friday through Sunday Campus Martius will be filled with thousands of people having a good time in the cold.
In addition to all of the food, live music and skating popular attractions like the zip line and "snow slide" are back, as well.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
