3 people found dead inside northwest Detroit home, police investigating

Detroit police are investigating after three people were found dead inside a home on the city’s northwest side this week.

The backstory:

Police said officers were called around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, to the 15500 block of Stoepel Street.

Upon arrival, officers found a man and woman dead inside the home. Their identities have not been released.

Dig deeper:

During the investigation, police learned of another person associated with the residence who had not been seen in some time.

Investigators returned to the home Friday, Aug. 21, and discovered the remains of another person in the basement.

What we don't know:

The cause of death for all three people remains unknown.
